The list changes with the seasons, and the full current version is always on our beverage menu. A few fixtures give a sense of how we build drinks. Tara's Paloma mixes mezcal or tequila with lime and grapefruit two ways, soda and sherbet, and it comes by the glass or in a jug for the table. The Smoked Old Fashioned pairs bourbon and maple syrup with bitters and a smoked finish. The Paper Plane brings together bourbon, Aperol, amaro nonino and lemon in equal measure. Our Espresso Martini is the drink people ask about most. We build it with vodka, cold brew liqueur, fresh espresso and a stout syrup that gives it a darker, rounder finish than the standard recipe. Anyone who prefers agave can swap the vodka for tequila and order it as a Mexpresso Martini, which has quietly become one of the most repeated orders at the bar. For offices in Midtown East and along the 3rd Avenue corridor, we are one of the closest cocktail bars that takes the drinks side seriously, and for anyone in Kips Bay we are a short walk north. The patio faces 3rd Avenue and seats through the warm months, which is where most of the jugs of Paloma end up on a Friday.
Private Cocktail Party NYC: The Speakeasy Downstairs
Underneath the main bar is Think Retro, our 1970s themed speakeasy, available for private hire with no venue fee. You agree a minimum spend, everything your group orders counts toward it, and the room itself costs nothing extra. It holds groups of 20 or more, has its own bar, and gets booked for birthday drinks, work celebrations, engagement parties and leaving parties most weekends.
