Tara Rose's three private and semi private spaces at 384 3rd Ave come with no room rental fee, and that includes a baby shower. You set a minimum spend for food and drink, and that covers the room. Choosing a Room for the Shower
Our back bar is a semi private space that suits a smaller shower, somewhere in the range of a close family gathering to a fuller guest list of coworkers and friends. It sits just off the main floor, close enough to the energy of the bar without losing the privacy a shower calls for. Think Retro, our underground speakeasy, is the other option. It is a 1970s themed room with its own mirrorball below the main floor, fully private, and it suits a shower where the guest list runs larger or the host wants a room that photographs well. Neither space carries a minimum headcount beyond what is comfortable for the room, and our events team can talk through which one fits your guest list once you reach out.
Getting to Tara Rose in Murray Hill
Tara Rose sits at 384 3rd Ave in Murray Hill, close enough to Grand Central to walk and served directly by the 6 train at 33rd Street. For a weekday or weekend shower, that means guests coming from Midtown offices or Kips Bay are a short ride away. Our sister bar Tara Mor at 150 West 30th Street, one minute from Penn Station, is worth considering if more of your guest list is coming from that side of town.
More Occasions the Room Suits
Outside of showers, the same two spaces get booked for engagement parties, work happy hours, birthday parties, and small holiday gatherings. A shower booking works the same way any of those do, with no fee for the room and an events contact who answers directly rather than through a chain of follow up emails. The minimum spend gets agreed up front, so there is no surprise on the bill.
One guest who booked our private room for a birthday put it simply after the fact: "I hosted my birthday party in the private Speakeasy room for 50 people and it was truly a flawless experience from start to finish." Brunch for the Shower
A shower books naturally into brunch, which runs daily from 11am to 4pm, with a bottomless option every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. The bottomless brunch is $29.95 per person with any brunch entree, 90 minutes of unlimited mimosa, bellini, bloody mary, Modelo on draft, or Aperol spritz, and the bottomless option itself includes a non alcoholic spritz or a spicy paloma. Note that the bottomless offer asks the full table to take part, so it suits a table where most guests are drinking. For a shower table where that is not the case, which is common, our full bar carries a proper non alcoholic list rather than a single substitute drink: a Spicy Paloma NA, a Penicillin NA made with lapsang tea and ginger syrup, a Phony Negroni, a Non Aperol Spritz, and zero proof beer including Guinness 0.0 and Heineken Zero.
Our events team can build a non alcoholic or mixed package around that list so the guest of honor and anyone else skipping alcohol are drinking something made for them, not a fallback. On the food side, the brunch menu includes chicken and waffles with mixed berries and chipotle maple syrup, the lox with poached eggs and smoked salmon, the 3rd Ave breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and hashbrowns, and the Spice Bag itself. Platters can be arranged ahead of time so the food arrives together rather than guest by guest.

Weekday and Sunday shower bookings tend to have more flexibility on start time and room choice. Saturday bottomless brunch is the most requested slot, so it is worth reaching out with a date as early as you can.
Can food platters be arranged ahead of the event?
Yes. Platters from the brunch or all day menu can be arranged in advance so everything arrives together once your group is seated.
